The Astera AX3 is a 15W RGBW wireless uplighter originally designed for stage lighting and events. Like the AX9 and AX10 fixtures it’s proving very popular with film-makers. If you are looking for a compact, battery-operated RGB fixture, this is a good choice!

Make it stand on its own, stick to metal surfaces or hang overhead

The AX3 comes with a multi-functional bracket. A stand can be unfolded and it contains a 3/8″ thread for accessories like the compatible AX5 Bolt. One of the AX3’s most popular features is its magnetic underside which allows it to be attached to metal surfaces. Make sure to secure it with an eyebolt when hanging it overhead.

Modify your beam

Filters for different beam angles (flood, elliptic, etc) can easily be inserted, giving you many options when designing your beam. Additionally, you can create a wide-angle soft light or add 120° filter to create an evenly illuminated pixel dome.

App Control and Wireless DMX

Take charge of complex lighting setups with efficiency using The AsteraApp. The app offers intuitive, fast control and is also used for preparation and monitoring Astera’s lights. As well as this, the Wireless DMX module by LumenRadio enables the lights to be controlled by CRMX and W-DMX transmitters alongside other wireless fixtures. The AsteraBox has built-in CRMX and can be used to transmit DMX data to your lights.

Smart features

To ensure that your light’s batteries last throughout your entire production, you can select how many hours they have to last. This limits the light’s output to a level where you get the maximum brightness to achieve the selected runtime.

Via the AsteraApp the PWM frequency of the LEDs can be adjusted to ensure that there is no interference with standard cameras. In addition, the light has a green/magenta balance to minimize post-production work.

Lights running out of battery, especially when it is sudden, is the worst feeling on set. Fear no more, as the AX3 doubles as a battery-powered emergency light. When activated, the fixture can detect power loss and instantly switches to bright white light to illuminate the venue.

When enabled, the integrated theft alarm gives visual and audible alarm if lights are being moved. In addition, the AsteraApp also shows the alarm. You can relax knowing that your AX3 lights are safe and protected!
