In 2001 cinematographer John Bailey was one of the first to shoot in digital for The Anniversary Party, but here he tells us why he’s not sure he wants a digital future

Now that many cinemas are converting to digital projection it looks like this will be the future of film-making. Does it have to be either 35mm or digital or can you use both? Sure digital is cheaper, more flexible, and we agree, greener. But what do you lose when everything can be ‘fixed in post’? Are you a digital devotee or a celluloid champion?
